The island nation of Taiwan is not on the average traveler’s bucket list. So, it’s getting off the beaten path is easy.
I visited Taipei before this blog existed, and my highlights were the night markets and the Taipei 101 building. And, the National Museum has a jade collection that is totally unbelievable until you see it in person. I’ve seen photos of it before and after my visit, but none of them do it justice.
Taipei Night Markets
Taipei is famous for the markets that open at night and are filled with food, things to buy, and fantastic people watching.
Taipei 101 Building
The elevator zooms up, and at the time of my visit it was the tallest building in the world! The floor at the top is designed for visitors, and the views are amazing. Also, the mini-museum explains why the building doesn’t collapse in an earthquake.
